The world of technology is constantly changing. As we know, there are many different types of technology. But just how much technology is used in medicine?
The first use of technology in medicine dates back to 1250 with the invention of the magnifying glass. This made it easier for people to see. This early invention from crystals is now used in eyeglasses, cameras, and other technological advances. The stethoscope was invented in 1815. This, now considered crucial to every healthcare provider, started with a French physician trying to hear a larger woman’s heartbeat. The era for innovative medical technologies started around 1905 and kept growing fiercely for five decades. During this time, the main advances were the Electrocardiogram, Electroencephalogram, Pacemaker, Dialysis, Cardiac Defibrillation, Mechanical Heart, Heart-Lung Bypass, and much more.
